WIPO’s database includes Peru’s national trademark collection. Use it for initial screening, then check local registers, classes and status.
A public search starting point
On 14 April 2026, WIPO announced the addition of Peru’s national trademark collection to its Global Brand Database. It is a public tool for businesses considering South America. This is a continuing reference, not an earlier update presented as breaking news.
Check before approving a brand
- Company, brand and product names in relevant languages, including spelling variants.
- Classes for the actual goods or services, not only identical names.
- Applicant, legal status, territory and record dates; verify important results with the national authority.
- Consistency across domains, social accounts and distributor names, with clear authorisation.
No result is not clearance
Coverage, update delays, similarity and other prior rights can affect the outcome. Vanmei recommends saving search dates, terms and results, then obtaining a market-specific assessment. Resolve conflicts before printing packaging, recruiting distributors or committing advertising spend.
Searching is not registration approval and implies no agency or partnership between Vanmei and WIPO or a national authority.
